RSC Chartered Surveyors: South Manchester and North Cheshire

Robert Cohen established RSC Chartered Surveyors in July 1994 and incorporated the practice of the late Michael Cohen FRICS in December 2004. We carry out independent property inspections throughout South Manchester, North Cheshire, Greater Manchester generally and surrounding areas. Prior to establishing the practice, Robert Cohen trained with Cooke Booth Fearnhead and then worked for Steven Scanlon in the City Centre. Further experience was gained via smaller practices prior to establishing RSC Chartered Surveyors.

We always advise that one speaks directly to a Surveyor prior to commissioning a report since it is particularly important to ensure that the inspection carried out is suitable for the property to be purchased and also suitable for the client’s requirements. This cannot always be done when instructing a Surveyor via a third or fourth party.

Independence

As independent surveyors and valuers we have no allegiance to a particular estate agent or legal practice. RSC Chartered Surveyors is recommended by a number of estate agents throughout Greater Manchester, but all reports are confidential to the client and would only be discussed with either the agent or vendor (seller) if authorised to do so

Costs

The price of the report will mainly be dictated by its size, age and location. However, there are minimum fees that are charged for each level of inspection. There are a number of firms charging low fees, but with RSC Surveyors all levels of report are able to be discussed and, in respect of Homebuyer or (Building) Surveys, on-site meetings or office based can be arranged to discuss the reports and their findings

General

The practice has streamlined its operation in recent years due to client demand. Therefore, certain work may be passed over to an associate practice that specialises in a particular field, such as Dilapidations, Leases and boundary disputes. The latter may be taken on, but subject to the particular situation.
